Important: SplitPi is a record-keeping and calculation service. It does not hold, transfer, lend or collect money; operate a bank account or wallet; verify that a real-world payment occurred; or provide financial, tax, accounting or legal advice.
1. Agreement and eligibility
These Terms & Conditions form an agreement between you and Slytlabs for the SplitPi mobile application, website and related services. By creating an account, accepting the terms in the app or continuing to use SplitPi, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy.
You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter this agreement. If you use SplitPi for a business, group or other organization, you confirm that you are authorized to act for it and to enter or share the relevant records.
2. What SplitPi provides
Depending on your account, settings, platform and release, SplitPi may let you:
- record personal expenses and monthly budgets;
- create expense groups, non-group shared expenses and participant distributions;
- record debts, advances, repayments and money reminders;
- capture an invoice or receipt and review automatically extracted items;
- use private individual daily records or shared records groups;
- record milk purchases and sales, units, FAT values, prices and calculated net quantities;
- review balances, carry-forwards, weekly or monthly settlements, activity and insights; and
- receive relevant notifications or create editable expense suggestions from eligible financial SMS on supported Android devices.
Features may differ by account type, role, operating system, region or configuration. Previewed, sponsored or future-release features are not a promise that a feature will become available.
3. Accounts and security
- Provide accurate, current information and keep it updated.
- Keep your device, password, OTP and login session secure. Never share an OTP or authentication token.
- You are responsible for activity performed through your account unless you promptly report suspected unauthorized access.
- Use only an email address, phone number or contact information that you are entitled to use.
- Do not create accounts to impersonate another person, evade restrictions, automate abuse or interfere with the service.
4. Your records and shared activity
You retain responsibility for the names, dates, amounts, notes, images, categories, participants, prices and other content you enter or upload. You give Slytlabs a limited permission to host, process, reproduce and display that content only as needed to operate, secure and improve SplitPi according to your settings and the Privacy Policy.
- Review every amount, split, participant, extracted invoice field, SMS suggestion and settlement before saving or confirming it.
- Shared records are visible to the people involved according to their role. Do not add sensitive or irrelevant information about another person.
- A SplitPi balance is based on user-entered records. It is not proof of debt, ownership, delivery, payment or legal liability.
- Mark a record paid or settled only after the involved people agree that the real-world action occurred.
- Disputes about expenses, supplies, quantities, quality, rates, debts, advances, repayments or settlements must be resolved by the involved users.
5. Terms for specific features
Invoice and receipt extraction
Automated extraction can be incomplete or wrong. You must verify the merchant, total, tax, line items, dates and assignments before creating an expense. Do not upload content you do not have the right to process.
SMS expense drafts
The optional Android SMS feature generates suggestions, not authoritative bank records. Filters may miss a transaction or classify a message incorrectly. Review every suggestion. If you choose to include the full SMS in Notes, you are intentionally adding that text to the expense and must ensure it is appropriate to share with any participants.
Contacts
Contact access is provided only to help you select a person for a supported action. Use selected contact details lawfully, do not use SplitPi for unsolicited communication, and confirm that you selected the intended person.
Daily records, milk and FAT pricing
Owners and members are responsible for agreeing on record type, entered quantity, measured FAT, base FAT, unit price, pricing mode and settlement period. Calculated net quantity and amount depend on those inputs and configured rules. SplitPi does not inspect milk, certify measurements, set commercial prices or guarantee a settlement outcome.
Insights, budgets, reminders and notifications
Totals and insights summarize available SplitPi records and may not reflect external accounts or missing entries. Budgets are informational. Reminders and push notifications may be delayed, duplicated or unavailable, so do not rely on them for a payment deadline or other time-critical obligation.
6. Acceptable use
You must not:
- use SplitPi for fraud, harassment, unlawful surveillance, spam or any illegal activity;
- upload malware or content that is unlawful, deceptive, harmful or infringes another person's rights;
- scrape, probe, overload, reverse engineer or bypass authentication, rate limits, permissions or security controls except where applicable law expressly allows it;
- use automated access without written permission from Slytlabs; or
- misrepresent SplitPi records as verified banking, accounting, tax or legal documents.
Slytlabs may investigate suspected misuse and restrict access when reasonably necessary to protect users, the service or legal rights.
7. Third-party services
SplitPi relies on services including Google Cloud, Firebase and Amazon Web Services Textract. Their processing is described in the Privacy Policy. Your mobile platform, app store, network provider and any external payment or messaging app you use are separate services governed by their own terms. Slytlabs is not responsible for a third-party service outside its control.
8. Availability and changes
Slytlabs works to keep SplitPi reliable but does not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free or permanent availability. Maintenance, network failures, third-party outages, security incidents or changes in law or platform policy can affect the service. Features may be corrected, updated, limited or discontinued, and users should keep any independent records they reasonably need.
These Terms may be updated to reflect material product, provider or legal changes. The effective date will change, and notice or renewed acceptance will be provided where required. If you do not agree to an updated version, stop using SplitPi and delete your account.
9. Account deletion and suspension
You can delete your account through Profile → Settings → Delete account and data, or follow the public Account Deletion instructions. Deletion is permanent. Shared ledger entries needed by other participants may remain with your direct identity removed or anonymized, as explained in the Privacy Policy.
Slytlabs may suspend or terminate access for serious or repeated violations, fraud, security risk, legal requirements or conduct that materially harms users or the service. Where reasonable and lawful, Slytlabs will provide notice or an opportunity to resolve the issue.
10. Ownership and feedback
SplitPi, its software, visual design, trademarks and original service content belong to Slytlabs or its licensors. These Terms give you a personal, limited, revocable, non-exclusive and non-transferable right to use the service. If you provide product feedback, Slytlabs may use it without an obligation to compensate you, while handling any personal information under the Privacy Policy.
11. Disclaimers and responsibility
To the extent permitted by law, SplitPi is provided “as is” and “as available.” Slytlabs disclaims implied warranties that cannot reasonably apply to a record-keeping service, including guarantees of uninterrupted operation, perfect extraction or calculation, or recovery of money from another person. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or liability that applicable law does not allow to be excluded.
To the extent permitted by law, Slytlabs is not responsible for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss arising from user-entered errors, disputes between users, missed reminders, unsupported devices, third-party outages or use contrary to these Terms. You remain responsible for backing up information that is important outside SplitPi and for independently verifying material financial decisions.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without limiting any mandatory consumer protection available to you. Courts with competent jurisdiction in India will handle disputes that the parties cannot resolve informally.
